“I shop, therefore I am.”
Barbara Kruger
A natural human striving is to gain recognition from the others. Not to show off but to determine one’s
individuality in some way. This happens through work, creation approve of one’s visions.
Most people though still choose the easier way – consumption. They surround themselves with different
subjects, feel happy about them, take care for them, and because of the loss of individuality they identify
with them. The things lose their purpose and turn into a final goal, the people lose their identity and build
up a new one, based upon subject-matter.
When I take pictures of people I wonder whether the current state of their face describes them best. Or
maybe the photograph of a favorite subject speaks more about their personality?
