From Big Beach series.

Big Beach is an ongoing series of drawings as the setting for a speculative future in which Mars has become a holiday destination. The series considers what happens when an unfamiliar environment is approached through ordinary desires such as rest, recreation and escape. It reflects on how quickly new landscapes might be interpreted through existing cultural habits, how our perception could be easily shifted. Questions about escapism or exploitation may arise.

The drawing presents polygonal dunes on Mars. Based on existing landforms captured by NASA, the dunes are reimagined as a large beach. The image as it is taken - from the top, only emphasises the human disconnection and distance from the landscape.
