Float is a collaboration with Edo Garcia (CL/ES) and Sari Sandberg (FI). The piece revolves around the theme of fragility of human creations and nature’s quiet persistence.

Float recreates a regular day in Venice before and during high water (Acqua alta). The city is a prime example of the achievements of human technology, as well as the damage this technology is capable of doing. Due to different reasons most of which connected to human activity the ingeniously built city is estimated to be, in part, permanently under water by 2150.

Float creates a stage for reflection on the ways technology affects the environment it’s used in, and in the same time – appreciation for the achievements of human invention.
