From Unfolding the Digital Self series. The focus is on the compound experience of the physical and the virtual. As every physical encounter is personal, reflected by the individual self, so the virtual being is moderated by the digital self. However, the body responds in the same ways to physical sensations, and to virtually simulated ones. I am fragmented while still keeping it together. I live both here and there.
Combining work done by hand with digital fabrication, I am exploring the specific ways in which the virtual “me” would be dissolved and reorganized. By looking at the self, I am mapping its connections to everything else. I’m fascinated to materialize the invisible, to experience and suggest a broader reality.
Spending habits materialised. One’s relationship with money is one of the most personal and unspoken experiences. To the online banking app a person is a mere collection of data, visualised through donut charts.
