Original Sims is an exploration of simulated and technologically enhanced reality. The line between natural and artificial is increasingly blurred. Who can determine for sure what is more authentic? We face realities where actual and fictional coexist.

The combination of “real” and “unreal” images in Surface Drawings accentuates the elusive and uncertain nature of comprehension and cognition. It challenges the viewer to critically examine their own perceptions and beliefs, inviting self-reflection on what they consider to be absolute truths.

The focus is on surfaces (very close details) as the main image type, because they are the interface between ourselves and the physical reality we inhabit.They are the first point of contact for our senses.

The use of pencil on paper as the medium for this project holds significance, as it serves as a counterpoint to the fast-paced and automated nature of image generation. By taking a slower, more deliberate approach to using AI and combining it with a human’s own artistic skills, Surface Drawings aims to reclaim the joy of research and discovery.
